The 1000 kroner note is of Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944).
Behind the painter is part of his work Melankoli (Melancholy).


The back is a part of a study to Solen (The Sun), a large painting (35m2)
placed in the University of Oslo’s Aula.
