Paris

Two weeks ago I was lucky and got a 25 hour stop in Paris.

Notre Dame

My first trip to Paris was in 1991. I was on Interrail and had ended up in Corfu, Greece. I had decided not to go to France on this trip as I a) did not speak any French, and b) had heard that the French were somewhat "impolite" toward foreigners. Anyway at Corfu I met two nice French girls and faith would it that I ended up traveling back with one of them to her hometown in France. On our way we stopped by Paris. The French turned out to be quite friendly, and most of them even seemed to be able to communicate in English as soon as they got to know you. Since then I have been in love with France.

On this trip it was us two boys in the cockpit and three ladies from the cabin that went to our hotel at Place de la Republique. We had a small drink outside the hotel and two of us walked down towards Notre Dame where we later met up with the others again. There was an ongoing service inside the church so we stayed and watched for a while before we walked into the Latin Quarter where we had our dinner. Later on we walked over to the Louvre and from there up Champs Elysees. By the time we got back to the hotel it was pretty late.

And lucky me! I have been scheduled with no less than 3 twenty-five hours stops in Paris in July! Hurray!!

Ericsbergs Castle

Three weeks ago K and I was in Sweden and met our new aupair – Anna. This photo is taken in the garden of Ericsbergs Castle just by Katrineholm a bit south of Stockholm.

The castle is one of the most distinguished baroque castles in Sweden and one of the country’s largest estates. According to the story, the evil wife of Pintorp haunts Ericsberg.

New Camera

I got myself a new digital camera a few weeks ago. Hopefully I shall be able to use it frequently.

The rise and fall of a blog

This is the visitor log to my blog. As you can see it had a sudden rise before Christmas last year – and then fell back again as my blogging decreased.

Logmyblog stats

I guess some of the rise was due to the little fellow below. I do not know which species he is, nor where I picked him up but he surely is a good looking dude… ;-)
